The Cape Independence Advocacy Group (CIAG) commissioned Victory Research (VR) to conduct another poll on Cape Independence. It was a telephone survey, the sample was fully representative of the Western Cape adult population, and the margin for error was 3.5%. Polling took place between the 12th and 18th of March, before the current challenges within the GNU. The sample size was 820 which is statistically significant and in line with accepted international norms.

Key findings of the poll:
- 24% of respondents thought South Africa was heading in the right direction, whilst 68% thought it was heading in the wrong direction.
- 6% of respondents thought the GNU was working very well, whilst 52% thought it was working somewhat well.
- 51% of respondents favoured a referendum being held on Cape Independence.
- 43% of respondents favoured Cape Independence itself.
- 50% of respondents thought Cape Independence would improve their standard of lives.
- Support for Cape Independence was highest amongst coloured respondents (60%) and lowest amongst black respondents (16%).
- 72% of Cape Independence supporters vote DA and 50% of DA supporters favour Cape Independence.
- 63% of respondents wanted greater provincial autonomy.
- 57% of respondents supported a federally autonomous Western Cape.
- 63% of respondents would rather be aligned with the US and EU than Russia and China.
