HOW YOU CAN HELP.
Independence supporters now have 30 days (Up until 20 July 2021) to make comments to the speaker of parliament about the proposed 'Electoral Commission Amendment Act, 2021', which the DA has now published in the Government Gazette.
The purpose of the amendment is to allow provincial referendums to be held, and it is therefore very important that we do all we can to get this act passed as quickly as possible.
The more supporting comments the better.
WHAT MUST I DO?
Write a brief email to the speaker of parliament using this email address: speaker@parliament.gov.za
If want to do a bit more then please consider
- Creating a social media post asking your friends and family to also make a submission
- Post a copy of your submission on our Facebook or Twitter feeds to encourage others
WHAT MUST I SAY?
Please use your own words, duplicate submissions won't be counted. You can say as much or as little as you like. "I support this bill" is enough. If you want to give reasons why you support the bill then that will make it more personal.
